An authentic antique French majolica (barbotine) plate, attributed to the Onnaing pottery and dating to the late 19th century, circa 1890.

The design features a beautifully detailed bird nestled among white blossoms and leafy branches, set against a rich turquoise ground. A sculptural, scalloped border in soft cream with warm ochre accents frames the scene, adding depth and contrast. The raised relief and glossy glaze bring a sense of movement and life to the piece.

Onnaing pottery, produced in northern France from 1821–1938, is known for its expressive, nature-inspired majolica and richly layered color. Pieces like this are especially sought after for their whimsical charm and painterly quality.

Collected in France and chosen for its softness, storytelling detail, and timeless appeal.

Perfect for a plate wall, layered styling, or as a small decorative dish.
